RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of DSC riders to and from their assigned destinations. Also, to assist as necessary all clients entering or exiting the bus and ensure all seat belts are buckled prior to putting the vehicle into motion.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be 21 years or older; a valid State of Illinois Class “B” driver’s license with passenger endorsement is preferred.
• Minimum of two years bus driving experience.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Hold a CDL “A” driver’s license with one year experience in operation of semi (tractor/trailer)
HOURS:
• Full-Time: 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Part-Time: 7:15am - 11:15am or 12:30pm – 4:30pm
WHAT WE OFFER:
• $17 per hour to start; $19 per hour for Class B CDL holder; $22 per hour for Class A CDL holder
• Grant-funded hiring/new employee bonus of $400 (for full-time employees, payable upon completion of training) and retention bonuses up to 4 times per year through June of 2026 – up to $1600 per year!
• Professional resources available through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) with opportunities to connect with peers from all over the U.S.
