POSITION TITLE : Behavior Consultant
DIVISION : Therapist / Clinician
SUPERVISOR : Behavior Services Director
CLASSIFICATION : Non - Exempt
PURPOSE :
Job duties will include completing functional assessments, development and implementation of behavior support plans, training of support staff and active participation in interdisciplinary teams.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :
1. Develops and trains staff / families to implement clients’ treatment or care plans based on identified needs, goals, and objectives .
2. Monitors clients’ progress and modifies treatment, as necessary.
3. Seeks the appropriate and necessary clinical supervision.
4. Maintains the necessary documentation and client records associated with services delivered; offers professional analysis or opinion of client information reviewed and interprets relevant clinical data.
5. Provides training, direction, or input as requested to other employees and families in clinical expertise .
6. Participates in supervision, meetings, and professional development activities, and special projects and assignments as required or approved.
7. Assist with the elimination of barriers, which restrict individuals with disabilities from community inclusion.
8. Be able to complete duties with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS :
1.Excellent and professional communication skills, both oral and written.
2. Must possess critical thinking skills.
3. Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
4. Comply with ethical standards of DSI, FSSA, and other governing bodies.
5. Must possess excellent telephone skills.
6. Ability to effectively operate equipment such as a scanner and copier and have a working knowledge of computers and related software ( i.e. Microsoft Office)
REQUIREMENTS :
1. Master’s Degree in social work , clinical psychology, or special education, with five (5) years of experience in a human services field, including experience with assessments and plan development.
2. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
3. Maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier.
