Field Technician – Agriculture Operations

Position Overview
We are looking for a Field Technician to join our team, providing top-quality agricultural field services, with the potential to grow into an Operations Manager position. The ideal candidate will perform diverse field operations, reporting directly to Lead Agricultural Technicians or the Director of Operations. This position requires a passion for working outdoors, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence
- Execute duties efficiently and professionally under supervision.
- Perform various field tasks in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with a focus on health and safety.
- Handle and label samples carefully to ensure data integrity.
- Equipment Use and Maintenance
- Operate company equipment safely, following all safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Track and report daily tasks accurately and on time.
- Log working hours by clocking in and out daily.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Deliver exceptional customer service during field operations.
- Attend scheduled meetings and respond promptly to emails to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
Qualifications
- Outdoor Readiness: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (cold, snow, rain, wind, and sun).
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work extended or additional hours and mandatory travel as needed.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with high initiative.
- Equipment Experience: Proficient in operating a pickup truck with a trailer and ATV; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Physical Ability: Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs and walking long distances in fields.
- Tech Proficiency: Familiar with email, handheld GPS units, Google Earth, website platforms, and GIS software.
- Bonus Experience: Prior agricultural experience is an asset but not required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
