The primary function of the Truck Salesperson is responsible for the selling of new and used heavy duty and medium duty trucks. The primary function of the Truck Salesperson is responsible for the selling of new and used heavy duty and medium duty trucks. The position will increase market penetration by selling and developing market strategies to qualified customers in the designated area of responsibility and achieve unit goals and gross profit.
- Contact new prospects via in-person cold calls, direct mail programs, email, and telemarketing.
- Develop and present sales proposals to prospects and new customers.
- Communicate with the sales team, in daily correspondence and weekly meetings.
- Maintain and expand customer base through close customer relations. Emphasis should be placed on building personal relationship with customers.
- Pursues training about new features of the product by participating in Kenworth Truck Company opportunities. Demonstrates knowledge of the product of competition.
- Maintain and develop sales plan for each year, using corporate documentation procedures, i.e. – call reports, expense reports, etc.

- 5 years sales experience in the truck sales field.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Understands the principles of marketing, customer service and administration.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard departmental equipment.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to stand for long periods of time.
- Other duties as required
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should know basic computer skills.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Position requires the ability to operate motor vehicles and have a safe driving record. Current Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.
