Certified Reach Truck Operator

Position Summary Description:

As a Reach Truck Operator, you will perform a variety of tasks within our warehouse including loading trucks, unloading trucks, case picking products, and staging finished products as they are released from our packing area. You will be operating a Reach Truck with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that products will always be in the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operates reach truck equipment; including other equipment (motorized included) to load or unload product into the warehouse.
• Picking and staging finished goods proactively
• Pulling and stocking pallets in high racks with 40 ft clear high ceiling.
• Transports palletized products to proper warehouse slots.
• Replenishes primary pick slots from secondary pick slots.
• May assist in receiving area or with will call orders.
• Moves empty pallets.
• Reads shipping order and/or picking order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Loads and/or unloads product items and other materials onto and off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Lifts, counts, sorts, and places product items on pallets according to order fill instructions or special requirements.
• Prepares and records orders, fill tickets and truck logs (load sheets) in accordance with company standards.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Move and stack materials using safe material handling guidelines.
• Identify damages and report shortages.
• Perform reach truck inspections and follow reach truck operating guidelines.
• Comply with company policies, safety rules and regulations.
• Performs similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor including general housekeeping.

• Education/Training and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferably)
• Three -five-year's experience of distribution or warehouse experience (preferred).
• Three -five years of reach truck experience (preferred).
• Must be able to perform basic to moderately difficult mathematical functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averaging and percentages.
• Must be able to successfully complete in-house forklift certification test.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to possibly sit for long periods at a time.
