POSITION OVERVIEW
Devgiri is seeking a new Textile Designer to add to a growing product design team, focusing on woven, printed, and handmade textile design and development. Reporting to the senior team, the Textile Designer will work very closely with the design team, the sales & merchandising team and the sampling units in India. The Textile Designer will learn the textile and rug product categories in-depth, understand the customer needs for specific accounts and develop product presentations for each customer based on market information, customer feedback and trend forecasts. The position will be responsible for designing and driving development in our textile and seasonal rug categories, involve a mix of independent projects and support projects for our line, seasonal, or custom projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the US design team to create textiles for table linens and seasonal rug categories
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate textiles and construction samples for line development and special custom projects or seasonal projects
- Meet with designers, sales and customers to review custom projects and new development. Provide textiles, design work, specifications, and other meeting materials as required
- Keep up to date on retail and international color, design, and sales trends.
- Communicate with overseas manufacturers for the quality, design, and product development
- Support showroom set up for markets
QUALIFICATIONS
This is a weekly in-office hybrid position and based in downtown Atlanta.
