What are the responsibilities and job description for the FedEx Delivery Driver position at Devine Distribution Inc?
As a FedEx Ground driver, you have flexibility throughout your day and freedom of driving. You will be driving our vehicles and be supplied with all the necessary equipment to do the job. You are in charge of completing your route with flexibility of your speed, when you take breaks, and the length of your day depends on how efficiently you organize, find, and deliver packages to the customers. Most drivers work from 8-5PM, but this can vary based on route and volume for the day, speed and stops for lunch/breaks. Some days may be longer or shorter based on package/stop volume for the day and day of the week. We run routes 6 days a week, Monday – Saturday.
We ask that drivers show up in the morning with a positive attitude and complete their shift safely and accurately. We expect drivers to be safe and have a teamwork attitude, strong work ethic, and great dependability.
A background check and DOT drug test is required for this position and we are subject to Federal regulations.
A Day in the Life of a FedEx Driver:
1. Loading and organizing packages of ranging sizes, weights, and quantities on to your assigned truck at the FedEx terminal.
2. Complete pre-trip inspection of truck and make sure you have the necessary equipment to complete your assigned route.
3. Safely Deliver and Pickup Stops to residential and commercial properties on your assigned route using company-provided iPad and Scanner throughout the day to code and scan packages as delivered, picked up, or attempted.
“Assigned Route” Any stops and packages assigned to you on DRO or moved to you by management that show on your scanner or otherwise discussed with you by management.
4. Drivers must keep in mind time commitment stops including Express, Pickups, and businesses that may close at a specific time. GroundCloud software is used to assist the driver in laying out the route in the most efficient manner.
5. Return company truck and equipment to terminal once all stops are complete.
6. Complete post trip inspection, empty trash from vehicle, and plug in company provided equipment so its ready for the next day.
Other tasks include: Regular safety training and meetings, following up on disputes or misdelivered packages, cleaning company vehicles, logging time worked, assisting fellow drivers as needed, and assisting managers as needed with various tasks to maintain a safe working environment and equipment.
Requirements:
· Commercial Driving Experience: At minimum of 6 months is required, more is preferred.
· Clean Motor Vehicle Report & Conduct Background Check
· No DUI/DWI
· Must be over 21 years old
· Ability to safely lift/move up to 150 lbs. with a hand truck
· Driver’s License
· US Work Authorization, we E-Verify
· Ability to read, speak, and written English
