Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive assessments for individuals seeking services
- Review clinical records and background information to understand clients’ treatment histories and life experiences
- Collaborate with internal and external providers when appropriate and authorized
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on building healthy coping strategies for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
- Co-create and regularly update individualized treatment and recovery plans with each client to guide their therapeutic journey
- Monitor, document, and evaluate client progress toward treatment goals in alignment with agency and regulatory standards
- Provide case management, referrals, and advocacy to support sustained recovery
- Offer psychoeducational resources and therapeutic tools tailored to each client’s needs
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and state/federal regulations
- Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development, including evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care
- Support program quality through contributions to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts
- Refer clients and families to community resources as needed for additional support
- Active Maryland Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) certification (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals experiencing substance use or co-occurring disorders
- Familiarity with behavioral health treatment models, recovery-oriented care, and documentation best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clients using culturally competent and strengths-based approaches
- Eagerness to grow professionally, receive feedback, and contribute to a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic clinical setting
