The Compressor Mechanic is responsible for performing complex mechanical functions and duties including inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment in order to maintain high levels of safe and reliable equipment performance.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Overhaul, repair, maintain, and test compressor equipment & gas/Liquid coolers
- Perform compressor repairs and disassembly (including mechanical seal removal)
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of compressors and engines
- Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of compressor system shutdowns and failures
- Maintain records for required state, federal, and company procedures and participate in team administrative duties
- Operate auto crane safely and appropriately
- Maintain safe operations
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by department leadership
- Oil and gas industry knowledge required
- Valid Driver’s License, acceptable driving record
- Must have proven mechanical aptitude
- Proficient using a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Ability to work safely around various types of equipment
- Available and willing to work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of Technical school training program or one year of oil and gas experience is required
