Belly Dump Driver
Job Summary:
The Belly Dump Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and unloading materials such as gravel, sand, asphalt, and other aggregates to and from job sites, quarries, or plants. The driver operates a belly dump trailer, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of materials while adhering to company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a belly dump truck to transport and unload materials at designated locations.
- Inspect and maintain the truck and trailer before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues.
- Follow designated routes and schedules while complying with traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and unloading of materials.
- Monitor road and weather conditions to ensure safe driving practices.
- Communicate with dispatchers, site supervisors, and other drivers to coordinate deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and load details.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with minor truck maintenance and cleaning as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience driving a belly dump or similar commercial truck.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate hydraulic dump controls safely and efficiently.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in construction, roadwork, or material hauling.
- Knowledge of aggregate materials and weight limits.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Driving long distances and working extended hours when needed.
- Requires sitting, lifting, bending, and climbing in and out of the truck multiple times per shift.
