Job Description

A bit about this role :

Our Payment Integrity Department ensures that provider claims are paid correctly by the responsible party, for eligible members, according to contractual terms, not in error or duplicate, and free of wasteful or abusive practices. As part of this function, the Vendor Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Payment Integrity team's relationships with external vendors. This role will focus on optimizing vendor performance, improving process efficiency, and troubleshooting operational issues.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can establish and monitor vendor performance metrics, consistently enhance workflows to achieve organizational objectives, and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.

Your Responsibilities and Impact will include :

  • Manage vendor relationships, addressing day-to-day issues and serving as the primary liaison between the Payment Integrity team and external vendors
  • Partner with other operators and the tech team to scale day-to-day operational oversight and workflows involving vendors, including escalations and invoicing
  • Establish and monitor vendor metrics to regularly assess vendor operational and program performance against targets and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to successfully implement new vendor programs, scope changes, and process improvement projects
  • Develop and maintain documentation (e.g., policies, SOPs, training material) regarding vendor-related processes and systems
  • Analyze vendor performance data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making around vendor selection and renewals
  • Assist with development of vendor contracts, including amendments

Required skills and experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in operations
  • Analytic mindset and ability to execute qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Results-oriented with a willingness to take initiative and get the job done
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with an ability to influence others
  • Strong cross-functional project management and stakeholder management skills
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Desired skills and experience :

  • 5 years of operations experience (Medicare Advantage health plan or vendor a plus)
  • Strong desire and ability to quickly learn Payment Integrity concepts and workflows
  • Experience influencing and driving change in a highly-matrixed organization
  • Experience with data and integrations teams a plus

    Salary range : $76,000 - $120,000 annually

    Our ranges are purposefully broad to allow for growth within the role over time. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job.
