What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Occupational Therapy Assistant position at Devoted Physical Therapy?
Devoted Physical Therapy offers in-home services and specializes in treating the geriatric population. We are looking for an educated and licensed COTA to handle an in home caseload. 90% of our home case-load is concentrated within a 3 mile radius on the beach side between Sunrise Blvd. and Commercial Blvd, making it easy to group patient home visits!
We are DEVOTED to increasing our patients independence and restoring their functional mobility. We provide peace of mind by treating our patients right in their homes using a one-to-one treatment approach. You will help patients improve their mobility and return to functional lives. You will work closely and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, treating patients with medical problems or other conditions that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities.
We are looking for coverage in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach, Florida and surrounding areas. You will need to have transportation and must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities:
- Administering treatments in accordance with the Plan of Care.
- Providing medically necessary treatment plan and modifications
- Documenting patient care services by charting in patient and department records according to accepted regulatory guidelines in the appropriate EMR system.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to treatment location infection control policies and protocols and keeping information confidential per company and federal requirements.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with treatment location and department procedures, rules and regulations.
- Provides services in multiple settings (including skilled nursing, assisted living, patient homes, and outpatient) as determined by supervisor and patient/resident need.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license, valid FL professional license
- Must possess FL automobile liability insurance and registration
- Must have a current physical stating you are clear of communicable diseases
- Must be willing to adhere to COVID testing requirements as outlined by state and industry standard
