Business Development Manager: VC & Startup
We are a unique SaaS revenue organization designed to support a rapidly scaling technology startup, driven by a hybrid model of product-led growth (PLG) and sales-led growth (SLG). We’re looking for dynamic, results-oriented individuals to help accelerate our startup customer segment through strategic VC ecosystem partnerships, startup events, scalable programs, marketing campaigns, and direct engagement with startups. This role will involve close collaboration with multiple functions, including sales, marketing, product management, technical teams, and more. Ultimately, it will play a critical role in establishing and scaling DevRev’s startup business and PLG motion over time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine GTM playbooks for the Startup & VC ecosystem in North America.
- Manage and foster relationships with VCs and startups.
- Conceptualize and execute innovative, scalable programs to drive awareness, consideration, and adoption of DevRev offerings.
- Lead and participate in creative startup and developer-focused events, including third-party collaborations.
- Collaborate with sales, demand generation, brand marketing, and product marketing teams to scale startup campaigns.
- Generate and convert usage/revenue pipeline, and acquire new startup logos.
- Refine messaging and positioning of DevRev’s offerings for early-stage startups.
- Analyze data to generate actionable insights that drive pipeline and revenue growth.
- Stay informed on industry trends, updates, and best practices across channels.
Qualifications
- 2-3 days a week onsite in our Palo Alto, CA office.
- Passionate about startups, VC ecosystem, and GenAI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in Business Development, Marketing, Sales, or Program Manager roles within startups or the VC ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of SaaS products, subscription models, and cloud computing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for building rapport.
- Strong organizational skills, including stakeholder management, time management, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- High ownership, action-oriented, and committed to maintaining quality deliverables.
- Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Resilient to rejection and maintains a positive attitude.
- Experience partnering with the VC ecosystem and selling to startup clients.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scrappy, and global environment.
