Our client is currently seeking a Project Manager in support of Lidar elevation data and imagery acquisition, remote sensing, and geospatial mapping and technology solutions for federal, state, local, and commercial clients. This position will be based out of one of the following locations: Fairfax, VA, Tampa, FL, Raleigh, NC, or Denver, CO. Project management activities will include coordination and communication with clients to help define project goals and scope; coordinating with subconsultant partners to build effective teams; developing compelling technical approaches and cost estimating for proposals; and effectively coordinating across internal acquisition, technology, and production teams to meet client outcomes and deliverable commitments.


Responsibilities will include developing client and partner relationships, connecting client needs with company services and solutions, and managing project teams to deliver within scope, schedule, budget, and quality. The successful candidate will have experience in geomatics, GIS, and remote sensing; preferred experience in survey technology including lidar and photogrammetry; with experience in topo-bathymetric lidar or acoustic sonar technologies a plus. External and internal coordination will require strong writing and communication skills in support of geospatial pursuit proposal development, project management, and developing high quality mapping, studies, and reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate is an attentive, organized, client-focused professional who understands deadline-driven work and is a self-starter who helps define and deliver the clients expected outcomes.


Responsibilities


  • Work with our business development team to coordinate with clients and partners and help position for pursuits.
  • Work with our proposal teams to develop compelling solutions for geospatial project needs.
  • Prepare task order proposals including technical proposal, cost proposal, schedule of deliverables.
  • Setup and abide by project controls within company systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint, MS Project for the Web).
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and work with our team to set up requisitions and purchase orders to manage their work.
  • Review and manage project risks with the client.
  • Manage deliverable quality within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Draft client invoices and manage through collection.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders and respond to client feedback.
  • Represent the firm appropriately with teaming partners and subcontractors, at conferences, and business networking opportunities.


Required Skills & Experience


  • Bachelors degree in Geography, GIS, or related field.
  • One or more of the following credentials: Project Management Professional (PMP), Geographic Information System Professional (GISP), Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM), Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), ASPRS and/or other related certifications.
  • 5 years of experience with elevation data and imagery acquisition, remote sensing, and geospatial mapping, and technology solution delivery.
  • 3 years of experience in the role of project management, experience managing large federal projects, and project coordination within the geospatial and A/E/C industry preferred.
  • Ability to schedule, host, conduct, and document meetings with clients, project teams, stakeholders. Comfortable presenting at conferences and other public forums.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills. Skilled at technical writing and editing for proposals, white papers, meeting minutes, project deliverables, studies, and other internal and external content.
  • Experienced with ArcGIS, MS Project, MS Teams, MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks, coordinate shifting priorities, respond to short-term deadlines, and carry a diverse workload with tight timelines.
  • Available to work overtime, at times, to meet business requirements.
  • Willing to travel to other office locations for meetings, as needed.


Desired Skills & Experience


  • Familiar with remote sensing technologies: topographic lidar, topobathy lidar, IfSAR, sonar, Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB), Structure From Motion (SFM).
  • Knowledge of one or more federal geospatial programs:
  • USGS 3DEP, 3DHP, 3DNTM programs; Elevation Derived Hydrography.
  • NOAA programs and initiatives including Regional Ocean Partnerships, Alaska Coastal Mapping Strategy and related working groups (AMEC, AGC, etc.), 3D Nation Study, Initiative for Resilient Great Lakes Coasts.
  • FEMA floodplain mapping program, flood insurance, FIRM Database, NFHL, MIP, Specifications and Guidelines, elevation certificates, LOMAs and LOMRs, Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling, Community Rating System, Risk Rating, floodplain management.
  • Aptitude for sharing pertinent project information on internal and external social media platforms (e.g., Company blogs, LinkedIn posts, ID posts, Teams chats, StoryMaps, etc.).
