Dewberry is seeking a Model-Based Roadway Design Leader in our Orlando, FL office to grow and strengthen our transportation design practice. Responsibilities
- Develop 3D roadway design models and lead the production of construction plans for projects ranging from major highway widening/interchange/reconstruction projects to local safety improvements
- Lead training programs to improve the overall model-based design capabilities of the Florida transportation team
- Oversee ORD technical/system implementations across the Transportation team
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers developing roadway designs as well as other 3D modelling experts across the company
- Potentially serve in Design Discipline Lead, Engineer-of-Record, and/or Project Manager roles, depending on project specifics and personal experience/background
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Highly proficient with all aspects of 3D modelling and model-based design practices within Microstation Open Roads Designer
- At least 5 years of roadway design experience and familiarity with roadway design criteria and plans production processes, preferably with FDOT
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- EI or PE license preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Desire to lead and advance model-based design practices statewide for our Florida Transportation team
