Job Description
Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated Senior Traffic Modeler or Senior Traffic Enginee r to be located in either our Fairfax, VA, Richmond, VA, Virginia Beach, VA or Owings Mills, MD office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a large team of traffic engineers. Projects will range from local community-focused safety and multimodal projects to large freeway improvement projects. This position offers tremendous career growth potential in a highly collaborative environment while working on broad range of project types for local and national transportation clients. Primary responsibilities include performing traffic operational analysis, traffic modeling and simulation (VISSIM and Synchro / SimTraffic) and safety analysis. The position also allows for a wide range of opportunities including traffic control device design. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years of traffic modeling and traffic engineering experience including experience on VDOT and / or MDOT projects. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to monitor schedule and budgets, work in groups, and lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers. This position offers flexible work hours and the ability for part-time telework.

Responsibilities
- Perform and manage traffic operational analysis and traffic engineering studies
- Perform safety analysis
- Perform transportation master plan studies
- Meet with clients
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, subconsultant partners, and clients
- Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit.
- Lead and / or mentor a group of staff traffic engineer
- Assist in proposal development
