Dewey's Bakery - Quality Assurance Technician
This position is full time, working 32 hours per week.
Shift - 3rd (10PM - 6AM)

This position is primarily responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality practices as required by Dewey’s policy, Customer and Regulatory requirements. This position will be responsible for monitoring and documenting various quality parameters as directed by company procedures/policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs quality checks on products as they are manufactured to ensure all quality standards are maintained.
- Reports any discrepancies to Quality Coach/Lead, Quality Management, Production Manager, Production Supervisor, for individuals to take proper action.
- Performs manual testing, analyzing, and recording related results of product.
- Documents defects with conciseness, accuracy, and details. Completes corrective actions forms to ensure proper accountability of quality system management.
- Records results for diameter, thickness, moisture and weight, etc. of product. Provides regular, accurate documentation on all quality parameters. Gives feedback to Quality Management, Production Manager and Production Supervisor of findings and possible resolution.
- Works with other production team members (such as mixers, operators and supervisors) to understand variance in quality control.
- Follows and enforces team members and visitors’ adherence to GMP rules and requirements.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area ensuring reduced risk of cross contamination.
- Communicates clearly and works well with co-workers and management team regarding quality issues and proper resolution.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Preferred one to three months related experience and/or training in a food manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience following SOP (standard operating procedures) and product specifications
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Previous experience with MS Excel , MS Word and basic computer functions
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual is a plus
