Job Description:
The Opportunity
Are you a proactive problem-solver with a passion for data center operations and a knack for collaboration across teams? If so, joining our Engineering Ops team will provide you with the opportunity to make a significant impact on our data center scalability, work alongside a skilled group of professionals, and contribute to the optimization of our hardware lifecycle management processes in a rewarding and dynamic environment.

The Engineering Hardware Team is a small yet dynamic group of three passionate individuals spread across the continental United States. Your Role 
  • Collaborate with Engineering and IT teams to efficiently manage hardware installations and lifecycle processes at the data center.  
  • Develop and implement a strategy for handling the backlog of hardware installations and lifecycle management.
  • Streamline CapEx procurement processes to ensure timely approvals and resource allocation.
  • Establish metrics to measure process efficiency and hardware utilization at the data center.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between IT Data Center Ops and Engineering teams to create optimized workflows.
  • Lead initiatives to automate hardware procurement, allocation, and tracking processes.
  • Conduct regular reviews with leadership and peers to assess progress and refine operational strategies.
  • Achieve documentation and transparency in hardware lifecycle management, establishing an official framework by the end of the first year.
 
What You Will Bring
  • Strong understanding of data center operations and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Experience in CapEx procurement processes and project management.
  • Proficiency in tracking and managing hardware installations and deployments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork. 
  • Ability to analyze and improve operational processes for efficiency.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and techniques in data center environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.  
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
