Our technology client is looking for a Revenue Accountant who will be responsible for managing revenue recognition and ensuring accurate financial reporting of all revenue and related accounts. This role requires close collaboration with Sales, GTM Ops, and Customer Success departments to ensure alignment on revenue policies and procedures.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for revenue and related accounts during the monthly close process
- Prepare monthly reports for management
- Own the billing cycle, ensuring that the Accounts Receivable team is billing and collecting timely
- Create revenue controls and procedures to ensure that we have processes in place to report accurately and timely
- Assist in financial statement audits by providing necessary information and documentation related to revenue
- Support other members of the Accounting team with customer invoicing cycle
- Support month end close by maintaining and reconciling key revenue related balance sheet items such as deferred revenue and capitalized contract costs, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
- Partner closely with the Engineering team and Finance and Monetization team to drive improvements to billing process
- Participate in sales tax review and filing, monitor customer sales tax setup
- Suggest and implement process improvements to ensure the accounting function is audit-ready
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of accounting experience required, preferably with focus in manufacturing and retail companies
- Knowledge of other US GAAP standards
- Experience working in highly cross-functional environments and demonstrated success working collaboratively across teams
- Proficient with accounting software (Netsuite, as well as Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communications skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and respond to requests efficiently and effectively
- Detail-oriented and data-driven, with the ability to handle and reconcile high volumes of customer data
- Strong problem-solving skills and a drive to implement change
