Job Title: Patient Access Specialist
Under the general supervision of an Operations Manager, the Patient Access Specialist will provide advanced services to patients, providers, and caregivers on behalf of patients for a specific manufacturer-sponsored program or set of programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing and coding support
- Claims assistance, tracking, and submission
- Prior authorization assistance and tracking
- Escalating complaints accordingly
- Establishing regional expertise regarding payer trends and reporting reimbursement trends/delays to management teams
- Coordinating with internal and external service providers to ensure services are performed in accordance with program policy and within expected service level agreements (SLAs)
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of four years of directly related experience in customer service, medical billing and coding, benefits verification, healthcare, business administration, or similar vocations. A bachelor's degree is preferred. The candidate must be proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word, and have a general knowledge of the healthcare industry.
