Role And Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Property Accounting Controller, the Property Accounting Manager is responsible for providing management with the proper financial information to facilitate effective management decisions on a property level.
This is accomplished through planning, forecasting, accurate accounting, record keeping and reporting. Responsible for directing and performing the day-to-day operations of the accounting functions for the property accounting department.
Provides direction through supervision of staff; preparation, analysis and interpretation of monthly financials, as well as assisting with departmental projects and tasks as needed.
- Review and manage the completion of the month-end process which includes determining and posting any necessary accruals, reconciling all balance sheet accounts for accuracy, analyzing and explaining income statement and balance sheet budget to actual variances.
- Process monthly journal entries Asset and Property Management Fees, etc. as necessary.
- Prepare and/or review property cash flow analysis.
- Review monthly close property workbooks journal entries, bank reconciliations, etc.
- Understand and review monthly tenant charges, receipts and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with all lease documents in regards to accurately reporting rental income and accruals as well as financial reporting compliance.
- Manage property accountants to maintain knowledge of all transactions and participate in various acquisitions processes within required timeframe and ensure compliance to all internal controls and company policies.
- Perform general ledger account analysis on a routine basis.
- Review all monthly property financial statements for executive management.
- Coordinate with property manager to ensure compliance to all procedures and evaluate and prepare all annual budgets and review all expense ledgers and assist in recovery reconciliations.
- Supervise and manage the property accounting team.
- Assist in preparation of financial data, property and corporate information for the quarterly and annual financial statements filed with SEC (i.e. Form 10-K and Form 10-Q).
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5-10 years of experience in accrual and property accounting for commercial real estate.
- CPA certification is desired.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager is required

- Must possess intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must possess exceptional analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills and must be able to multi-task.
- Candidate should have demonstrated leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects.
- Candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Candidate should possess exceptional analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills.

- Candidate must be able to facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests.

Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
