This position will manage revenue and related expense reporting for the Tire and Wheel Assembly Business Unit, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely reporting of results, comparative analysis and commentary to Senior Leadership. Understand the business, economics, and environmental drivers of actual results versus operating plan and forecast.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP of Operations and senior leadership team to drive profitability, production cost optimization and efficiencies with a continuous improvement focus.
- Provide information to management team by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Prepare annual business plans and own the monthly forecast for the TWA business unit.
- Analyze customer profitability, engaging senior leadership to drive sustainable results.
- Analyze financial results and variances; identify trends; recommend and drive actions.
- Develop, implement and track plant efficiency metrics.
- Prepare and/or Analyze Capital Expense projects with an ROI lens and track actual vs. projected performance.
- Provide support for logistics, planning and production forecasting.
- Provide clarity of understanding and drive improvements in cost reporting and related infrastructure.
- Maintain proper accounting processes and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility to ensure no significant control issues or audit comments.
- Manage the maintenance and accuracy of standard costs in conjunction with Corporate Cost Accounting including BOMs, routers and purchase standards.
- Oversee clear, concise, and timely monthly closing of the manufacturing systems to meet the stated deadlines and reporting needs, as well as provide timely and accurate response to requests for accounting information.
- Maintain a strong and result-driven relationship with Plant Managers.
- Support a Continuous Improvement / Lean, Six Sigma activities throughout the organization.
- Experience with Microsoft D365, Microsoft Power BI is preferred by not required.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
Dotted line supervision of plant accounting personnel within the Business Unit. Direct report to Sr. Director, Finance. Indirect (dotted line) reporting to Director of Operations. Supervisory responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training direct reports; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance yearly; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a comparable discipline and at least 10 years related management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree and/or CMA/CPA is preferred but not required.
