POSITION: Physical Education Teacher - 0.7 FTE

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a 0.7 FTE PE Teacher to join our team at Mill Creek Middle School. The ideal candidate should have a passion for teaching physical education to middle school students. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, and be able to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach physical education courses to middle school students
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the needs of all students
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students in learning
- Assess and evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic performance.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay current with best practices in physical education
- Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the Human Resource office before expiration date of said document(s).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate grade level certification. Endorsement of (MB) Physical Education required and endorsement of (MA) health, preferred
- Training in First Aid, certification preferred
- Knowledge of current physical education standards and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to use technology to enhance instruction and communication with students and parents
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student learning and success
