Position Summary:

As a Staff Accountant at Dexter Laundry, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of our financial processes. This exciting entry-level position is all about making an impact—whether it's accurately processing accounting data, supporting the finance team with key reports, or contributing to various financial tasks. You'll gain hands-on experience while helping drive the success of our accounting operations and making a difference in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, sales and use tax, check processing, and payroll functions.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and employees to resolve questions and issues.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends as requested by management.
  • Handle daily timekeeping, weekly payroll processing, and payroll reporting.
  • Research and interpret financial data to answer accounting and financial questions.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the department manager.


Skills and Abilities:

Accounting Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency in performing accounts payable, payroll functions, and sales & use tax reporting.
  • Experience with financial data entry, reconciliations, and processing payments.

  • Demonstrates a keen eye for detail in analyzing financial data and ensuring accuracy in processing transactions and reports.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve errors in financial records.

  • Clear and professional communication with vendors, employees, and team members.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and support decision-making.

  • Skilled at organizing tasks to ensure timely completion of daily accounting functions and monthly reporting.

Qualifications – Education & Experience:

  • A degree in accounting or at least 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
