About This Role
Dexter Southfield seeks a talented and collaborative Graphic Designer to join the Marketing and Communications team. This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and producing a wide variety of materials for both print and digital channels to support the School’s communications and branding initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive designer committed to high-quality work, strong visual communication skills, and a creative approach to solving design challenges. This position calls for professionalism, creativity, an eye for detail, and an ability to represent the School’s values and community effectively.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Design & Production: Create a broad array of materials for print, including posters, signage, brochures, mailers, fundraising appeals, booklets, annual reports, and more. Design digital assets, such as emails, invitations, website graphics, reports, and presentation decks to support school events and campaigns.
  • Photo Selection & Editing: Work with the Content Creator to curate and edit photos that authentically reflect the School’s programs, values, and community, ensuring visual consistency and alignment with brand standards.
  • Brand Management: Uphold the School’s brand identity across all projects, bringing fresh ideas that elevate the brand; update and maintain the brand guide as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work professionally and positively with colleagues across departments to understand and meet their design needs.
  • Vendor Relations: Partner with printers and other vendors to produce high-quality materials, managing print production and other third-party services as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in both print and digital design.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is required; Canva and Microsoft Office experience is preferred.
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines; ability to edit and adapt brand elements as needed.
  • Excellent proofreading skills, with an ability to interpret and organize content in branded, visually engaging designs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to prioritize projects, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment,
  • A consistent drive to produce good to great work that aligns with the School’s mission and visual identity.
  • Experience working with vendors to develop and deliver quality print and digital products.
