Job Title: Data Steward
Location: Bridgewater, NJ (Hybrid 3 days Onsite per week)
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary: The Data Steward is a key player who will ensure that the data governance is implemented and enforced across the Organization's data landscape. The Data Steward ensures critical data is inventoried, defined, and properly managed, as defined by policies, standards, and procedures. This position is responsible for data governance and data quality monitoring, identifying data issues and discrepancies throughout the data supply chain (capture, transport, and use). The position builds and maintains collaborative partnerships within the Organization to ensure initiative success. This role will participate in all Data Governance activities, including the creation and maintenance of related documentation. This role involves collaborating with various departments to establish data governance policies and procedures, and to support data-related projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
- Critical Data Identification, Metadata, and Data Lineage
- Collects, reconciles, and maintains data lineage for critical data assets.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across all data sources.
- Ensures applicable dimensions, rules, and thresholds are defined for data quality control implementation.
- Establishes, monitors, and produces data quality metrics.
- Identifies, collects, and manages resolution of data issues, and escalates to Business Data Leaders as required.
- Monitor and maintain data standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to define data requirements and standards.
- Conduct data quality assessments and audits.
- Manage data access and security protocols.
- Provide training and support to staff on data management best practices.
- Identify and resolve data-related issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain documentation of data processes and policies.
- Influence senior leaders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Steward or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of data governance and data management principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis and data quality tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and tools.
- Certification in data management or data governance.
