Job Description
The Chief Engineer will have authority to direct the CMI workforce overseeing all operations and maintenance work performed at CMI’s customer site in Chicago, Illinois.
Key Job Functions
- Responsible for the safe, economical operation of the plant and for all persons employed under his/her direction
- Responsible for the orientation and training of Engineers and Trainees under his/her direction
- Will carry out the orders of the management in the operation of the building
- Responsible for workload management, planning, supervision and inspections
- Oversee and assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnoses and repairs to facilities equipment, fixtures, and property
- Perform QC inspections and produce QC reports
- Oversee all phases of repair work
- Perform inspections of building equipment and systems
- Oversee scheduled maintenance and repair projects, and processing work orders
- Review project completion to ensure compliance with building standards and to ensure that work meets customer satisfaction
- Maintain records and prepare required reports
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- At least 7 years of recent (within the past 10 years) experience in the maintenance, repair, installation and inspection of mechanical systems and equipment within a federal facility of at least 300,000 square feet
- Active Professional or Structural Engineering license for the state of IL is required
- Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
