SUMMARY
The Cashier is responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service. The cashier will handle various payment methods, maintain a clean and organized checkout area, and assist customers with inquiries. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, purchases
- Provide product information and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the transaction process.
- Handle customer complaints or direct them to the appropriate manager for resolution.
Transaction Processing
- Accurately scan, bag, and process purchases, handling a variety of payment methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments.
- Maintain accuracy in cash handling, ensuring that the cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
Checkout Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
- Follow all store policies and procedures regarding register transactions, safety, and loss prevention.
- Assist with product availability, and stock rotation when necessary.
Product Knowledge
- Stay informed about current promotions, discounts, and store policies.
- Provide recommendations and information about store products when asked by customers.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed, such as stocking, inventory, or cleaning.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 10 pounds.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
