What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Laborer position at DFC Company?
Dakota Unlimited (a division of Dakota Fence Company, along with Dakota Fence, 3D Specialties, Sign Solutions USA, Dakota Playground, Park & Play USA, Town & Country Fence, West River Striping, Stadium Steve, DFC Property Management) is a growing fence contractor primarily involved in residential/commercial fence, gates and automated gate systems. Starting wage: $21.00 - $24.50 an hour, based on experience.
Shift and Time: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (Some Saturdays), Seasonal
Summary:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory, including shipping, receiving, cycle counts, and transfers between branches.
- Notify the Lot Foreman and coordinators when inventory levels are low.
- Coordinate with the Lot Foreman and project teams on material needs and equipment staging.
- Pre-load and stage materials and equipment for projects, including cutting materials as directed.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and equipment is not overloaded.
- Load and unload material deliveries.
- Assist with the upkeep of site facilities, including snow removal, trash management, and recycling.
- Perform special projects as needed.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Lot Foreman and Director of Construction.
- Use a computer system to track time, manage shipping/receiving, process inventory transfers, and monitor company-wide inventory.
- Support the Lot Foreman in ensuring materials and equipment are available, safe, and properly staged for projects.
