General Accountant

The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the company’s accounting information and financial statements. This role plays a key part in driving financial performance by providing critical financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The General Accountant will also partner with plant management to support business decisions, optimize operations, and ensure compliance with policies / procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Accounting & Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.

  • Perform fixed asset accounting and reporting.

  • Prepare all payroll accounting entries.

  • Prepares timely and accurate monthly financial statements.

  • Assist with preparation of income tax returns.

  • Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance.

• Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and plant management.

  • Prepares monthly budget variance analyses.

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term financial planning and capital investment decisions.

  • Track and report on capital expenditure projects.

• Operational & Strategic Support:

  • Partner with plant management to provide financial insights that support decision-making and operational improvements.

  • Evaluate and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost control.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial and operational performance.

  • Maintains contract archive including key renewal and termination dates.

• Compliance & Internal Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and internal controls related to financial operations.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Highly detail oriented and organized.

  • JD Edwards experience, preferred.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to multi-task with aptitude for highly detailed and accurate work.

  • Experience managing projects to completion within prescribed timelines and objectives.

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Excellent teamwork, customer service, communication and organizational skills required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other equipment, read, talk and hear for extended periods of time.

Salary

$70k - $80k. This annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range for this position. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within California and refers to the amount DFG Beverage is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
