High-profile, international law firm in Dallas, has an opportunity for a Legal Administrative Assistant to work with their Business Litigation Practice Group. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing a full range of legal administrative support to the assigned timekeepers in alignment with the firm’s core values. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of their clients!
Salary: $85,000-$95,000 DOE
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will provide a unique level of support through daily administrative support to assigned attorneys in their practice group as well as other members of the cross-firm team.
- The Business Litigation Legal AA is expected to show administrative skill sets in a broad array of business litigation ranging from anti-trust actions, to appeals, to class actions, financial services, trade secrets, and white collar crime.
- Proficient experience and knowledge of the business litigation practice is necessary to prove successful in the role.
- Create, maintain and properly close client and matter files.
- Manage the conflict check process, prepare engagement agreements and establish necessary financial information to allow for time entry and invoicing.
- Enter time on behalf of assigned attorneys, submit expense reports, process payment requests and coordinate the client billing process.
- Schedule meetings, conference calls and travel arrangements.
- Litigation Support: will assist in day-to-day litigation administrative support including processing received filings through the appropriate platform and distributing as instructed; maintaining an accurate log of pleadings and orders; ensuring deadlines are adhered to; assist in marking and preparing exhibit notebooks; assist in other aspects of trial preparation; schedule any mediations, arbitrations, or hearings, as directed; preparing and e-filing pleadings as instructed with the appropriate courts; working with cross-office litigation teams as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Ability to problem-solve.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-orientated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in taking initiative while asking for direction or clarification and consulting with others.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientation in a collaborative environment.
- 3 years of Legal administrative experience, with a background in time entry, billing, invoicing and calendar management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience in Am Law 50/100 firms strongly preferred.
