Eligibility Specialist
This is an opportunity for individuals drawn to the social service industry with the FSSA/Division of Family Resources (DFR) as an Eligibility Specialist.
About the Role:
The Eligibility Specialist position involves assisting in the processing of applications from Indiana residents who are requesting public assistance, including TANF (cash assistance), SNAP, and Medicaid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify all information gathered accurately and meets state policies
- Obtain release forms and medical records as needed
- Verify income, assets, and other financial / legal documents
- Utilize automated program to determine eligibility of state assistance programs
- Data entry into state database
- Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email
Requirements:
- Solid computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency
- Prior experience in a social service environment, state or local government desirable
- Prefer a Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services, but High School Diploma or GED required
