What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at DG Foods LLC?
Position Summary:
DG Foods is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our Hazlehurst plant. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of 480volt electrical equipment with experience and a solid understanding of basic mechanical principles. Essential Job Functions:
Job duties are as follows, but not limited to:
- Performs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Directs workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Leads tasks in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
- Help oversee all safety aspects for all DG Foods team members including but not limited to LO/TO, GMP’s & PPE’s.
- Responsible for all required Record keeping including but not limited to: Safety Training, BRC Training, Work Orders, PM’s, and Purchase Orders.
- Responsible for working with USDA on any deficiencies that would involve maintenance in a timely and respectful manner.
- All other duties are assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent or Maintenance Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Working knowledge and understanding of 110v and 480v 3-phase electrical circuits.
- Must have some knowledge & understanding of VFD drives.
- Experience with both A/C and D/C control devices.
- Experience with both Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
- Basic understanding of NH3 Refrigeration systems with at least one year of experience.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of PSM.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work feet (standing / walking) for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in Hot, Cold & Wet environments.
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in supervising or managing a crew of 5 or more employees is highly desirable.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required;
- College degree, and maintenance technical certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
- Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
