Description

The Warehouse Supervisor Front-End is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a shipping and receiving department. This role is responsible for supervising a team of employees who handle the packing, loading, unloading, and shipment of goods. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will ensure that all shipments are appropriately labeled, packaged, and traceable, and that the delivery schedules are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department, including scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring.
  • Responsible for hiring, evaluating, council, coaching, and terminating employees within assigned area.
  • Coaches and counsel's employees regularly in work-related activities, personal growth, and job enrichment, includes performing and presenting annual performance appraisals, recommends disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Enforces DGM policies and procedures throughout the entire warehouse.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and other departments to schedule deliveries and shipments.
  • Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming goods, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Oversee the outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks and check that they are all properly secured.
  • Inspect shipment contents for damage, shortages, and overages.
  • Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments and create reports as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and generate reports to track key performance metrics.
  • Provide training and support to your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
  • Addresses and / or escalates any potential safety, quality, and employee concerns, including injury and accident reporting.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have 3-4 year's experience managing and supervising a team and be familiar with logistics and transportation regulations.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must have strong communication to speak effectively and persuasively with the team, operations manager, suppliers, and customers, or executives of the organization.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills to manage inventory, create reports, and track deliveries.
  • Must have Proven Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, working knowledge of computers.
  • Forklift Experience, preferred.
  • Must ensure that all safety regulations are followed, and that the department meets health and safety standards.
  • Must influence the organization's culture by ensuring everyone's aligned on its mission, purpose, and vision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to qualify for any certifications necessary to manage and maintain the operations team.
  • Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of all regulatory subject matter needed to maintain safety and compliance

  • Must be patient and adjust to change quickly.

  • This position has direct reports.
  • WORKING CONDICTIONS :

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly for the duration of a shift.
  • Works safely and uses all necessary PPE
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and lift cumbersome and / or heavy objects.
  • Ability to work prolonged and / or irregular hours.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to work through stressful situations.
  • Must be able to navigate warehouse.
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday 6 a.m.- 5 p.m. Willing to work other than the scheduled times, when needed to meet deadlines or ensure that daily work is complete.
  • HOUSEKEEPING KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Participate in periodic cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Monitor team compliance with cleanliness and organization standards in their respective areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify and address any issues.
  • Coordinate with management to resolve recurring housekeeping concerns or supply needs.
  • Lead by example in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
