Job Summary
As a construction laborer, you will be responsible for assisting construction workers on job sites. Your primary duties will include carrying materials, digging footings/trenches, operating construction equipment under supervision, cleaning and preparing sites, and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Responsibilities
- Transport construction materials and tools to and from the worksite.
- Assist in preparing construction sites for work activities by clearing debris, digging trenches, and leveling the ground.
- Operate small machinery and tools such as drills, saws, and grinders under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work closely with construction team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to project specifications.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition.
- Support skilled tradesmen (e.g., carpenters, electricians) with their tasks as required.
- Clean up worksites by removing debris, garbage, and hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of construction safety protocols and ability to follow them strictly.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliability: Punctuality and dependability in attendance and performance of duties.
- Basic Skills: Basic understanding of construction techniques and familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
- License/Certification: Valid driver's license and/or certifications in operating specific construction machinery (depending on job requirements).
- Clean driving record required, in order to be insured to operate company vehicles.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 8-hour shifts occasional overtime
