What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Class A - Low Boy Truck Driver position at DH Griffin Companies?
D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co., Inc., is one of the leading demolition specialists in the country. Our Greensboro, NC Division is accepting applications for experienced CDL A drivers to operate a lowboy truck and trailer to transport heavy equipment and construction materials to various job sites.Job Requirements :
- CDL A permit required,
- Driver will be required to pull a 48" flat bed and drive a Peterbilt Truck
- Clean MVR
- Minimum 2 years driving experience and a safe working ethic
- Some experience operating equipment such as excavators, dozers, compactors, off road dump trucks, etc. Enough to safely load and unload the equipment on RGN (removable goose neck) trailers.
- Experience operating in a construction or demolition environment a plus
- Ability to travel out of town 2-3 nights per week as needed.
- Must be able to meet DOT annual physical requirements and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to to climb off and on of equipment and trailers when securing equipment and components for travel.
- Lowboy drivers must be aware of individual state laws, restrictions such as curfews to transport machinery per over dimensional permit requirements and be able to safely load, unload and transport oversize loads in all types of weather conditions and traffic.
- Forward thinking - able to use good judgement and possesses strong interpersonal / communication skills when encountering conditions unique to oversize loads
- All employees must be able to pass a background test and drug screening which meets DOT requirements.
- TWIC card for entry into power plants and government installations a plus, but not required.Compensation and Benefits : D.H.
