Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various saws and machinery. As a Sawyer, you will play a crucial role in the production process by cutting and shaping wood materials to meet project specifications. This position requires attention to detail, strong hand eye coordination, precision, and a strong understanding of woodworking techniques.
Duties
- Operate saws and other woodworking machinery to cut wood materials according to specifications.
- Measure and mark dimensions using measuring tools.
- Fabricate millwork projects, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Experience
- Previous experience in a Sawmill environment is required.
- Familiarity with millwork processes and techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and other woodworking equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Knowledge of machining practices is a plus.
- Ability to run and communicate with the sawmill.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
