As the Leasing Professional I, you play an important role in helping us fulfill this mission by receiving and reviewing RFTA packets from clients and landlords for participation in the HCV Program in accordance with HUD and DHA policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and process Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA) documents. Provides clients and landlords with documentation identifying any required document or information that is missing and required by DHA to complete the processing of their RFTA
- Provides clients and landlords with documentation indicating approval or denial of proposed rental units participation in the HCV program.
- Daily document and log information received, accepted or denied.
- Performs Tolling in Voyager Software.
- Coordinate with Leasing Professional II and/or Supervisor for specific client information and HAP Contract.
- Maintain copy of available rental units in areas within DHA's jurisdiction.
Knowledge and Skills for Success
A successful leasing professional has…
- Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of HUD, DHA residential, and multi-family building codes, maintenance, health standards, and inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of public housing management and occupancy issues and requirements; scope of fair market rent, principles, practices and procedures.
- Understanding of the principles of record keeping and records management.
- Proficiency in utilizing a variety of business software programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
Qualifications
- Associates degree
- Two (2) years of related work experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain Rent Calculation Certification within six (6) months of hire
- Valid Texas State Drivers’ License required
