Job Overview: Join the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract as an Oracle Database Administrator. We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in database administration, specifically Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and MongoDB, to optimize and maintain high-performance, secure environments. This is a dynamic role focused on database performance, security, and reliability to support critical defense operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Maintenance: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and MongoDB databases.
WebLogic Expertise: Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot Oracle WebLogic environments.
Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database performance to ensure high availability and efficiency.
Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce database security policies, and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with business and mission objectives.
Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior DBAs to enhance team expertise.
Backup & Recovery: Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard mission-critical data.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: 9 years of experience in database administration, specializing in Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Education:
High School 16 years experience
Associate’s Degree 14 years experience
Bachelor’s Degree 12 years experience
Master’s Degree 10 years experience
Leadership: Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
Certifications:
IAT Level II (e.g., Security ) within 60 days of starting.
Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, or MongoDB certification within 90 days of starting.
Desired Qualifications:
Strong skills in SQL and database performance tuning.
Experience in database security and familiarity with government standards.
Proven ability to work independently and in collaborative, mission-driven teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
