Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
As a Technical Writer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation including user manuals, product guides, online help, and API documentation
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers to gather and understand technical information
- Analyze product features and functionality to determine documentation requirements
- Create and maintain information architecture for technical content
- Produce meeting materials including agendas, minutes, and action lists
- Edit, proofread, and revise existing documentation
- Ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting across all documentation
- Incorporate user feedback to improve documentation quality and usability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or related field
- 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the software or technology industry
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and explain them clearly to non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in documentation tools and Microsoft Office 365
- Familiarity with markup languages (e.g., HTML, XML) and content management systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Active SECRET Clearance and US Citizenship
