The individual will serve as a Technical Editor within Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) at NASA HQ to support the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS).

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8 or more years of relevant work experience.

Summary
The individual will serve as a Technical Editor within Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) at NASA HQ to support the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS).
Responsibilities
- Provide full lifecycle document management in support of the standardization activities.
- Writes, rewrites, and/or edits technical documents which includes scientific, engineering, and technical content to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
- Coordinate, collaborate, and synthesize content from engineers and other technical professionals.
- Proofread documents for clarity, grammar, and adherence to CCSDS standards.
- Track the workflow of document edits throughout the development phase of each standard from a CCSDS Standard to an ISO Standard.
- Maintain metrics of CCSDS standards utilization and adoption by the space mission community.
Requirements
- Familiarity with satellite operations and satellite communications is strongly preferred.
- Should possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn new processes.
- Ability to prioritize work and know how to communicate time estimates when there are competing priorities; can status assignment progress.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel).
- This is a remote position. Travel may be necessary - domestic and international, typically two trips annually.
- Must be U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a government issued Secret clearance.
