Religious Interpreter
· Compensation: As a religious mission interpreter, living on site at Dharmakaya, all living expenses will be covered directly by Dharmakaya.
· Reports to: Resident lama, teacher
Job Description:
Dharmakaya is a Buddhist church with daily, weekly and monthly activities taking place throughout the year. Working directly with the Resident lama teacher, the Religious Interpreter will act as interpreter for both Nepali- and English-speaking students in all Dharmakaya programs as they are presented by the Resident lama teacher.
Job Responsibilities:
· Acts as interpreter for the resident lama in all Dharmakaya church-related programs:
o daily spiritual activities of Dharmakaya
o weekly and monthly special meditation programs
o one-on-one meetings with on-campus personal retreatants
· Acts as interpreter for any Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing programs or other activities as directed by the Resident lama, teacher.
Qualifications:
· Direct spiritual education and training under the tutelage of qualified masters in the Trungram lineage of teaching within the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism.
· Fluent in Tibetan, Nepali and English
· Transparent and high integrity in actions
· Enthusiastic, resilient and thoughtful demeanor required
· Appreciation of diverse spiritual and cultural traditions and respect for each person’s spiritual journey
· Adaptable and open
