Position Overview:
We are looking for a Counter Sales Associate to join our team in Santa Rosa, CA. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys interacting with customers, and has a passion for construction materials. You’ll be the face of DHC Supplies, assisting customers with product selection, processing orders, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience and contributing to the overall success of our ESOP company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers at the counter and over the phone.
- Build strong relationships with contractors and regular customers by understanding their needs.
- Provide product recommendations and offer expert advice on construction materials and tools.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of our product lines, including Simpson Strong-Tie, Makita, Metabo HPT, Diablo Tools, Titebond, and more.
- Upsell and cross-sell products based on customer needs and job requirements.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system
- Pull and pack orders for customer pickup.
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves and conducting cycle counts.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Assist with processing returns, issuing invoices, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support sales initiatives by participating in product training and promotional events.
- Writing up quotes
- Sales support for outside sales
- Special orders
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or construction supply is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction materials, tools, and related products is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Basic computer skills: Proficiency in using common computer applications for tasks such as inventory management and record-keeping.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must be able to lift 70 LBS
- Bilingual a plus
