Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various painting and construction techniques, with a focus on surface preparation and finishing. As a Blaster, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting or coating by removing old paint, rust, and other contaminants. This role requires a keen eye for detail and an understanding of color theory to ensure high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or blasting to remove old paint, rust, and debris.
- Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently to achieve desired surface finishes.
- Apply knowledge of color theory to select appropriate coatings and finishes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to determine work requirements.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met.
- Perform drywall installation and repair as needed.
- Assist in remodeling projects by providing expert painting services.
- Utilize caulking techniques for sealing joints and gaps in various structures.
- Conduct basic welding tasks as required for specific projects.
- Provide estimates for painting and blasting projects based on material needs and labor.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial painting or construction painting is preferred.
- Familiarity with drywall installation and repair techniques is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of color theory and its application in various projects.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications effectively.
- Experience with caulking, welding, or maintenance person tasks is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
