Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic/Friction Crane Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and load heavy materials and equipment on construction sites, industrial settings, or other designated work areas. This position requires a high level of precision, safety awareness, and mechanical aptitude to ensure smooth and efficient crane operations.
As a Hydraulic/Friction Crane Operator, you will work closely with team members to coordinate lifting activities and ensure the safety of both personnel and equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating cranes, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate hydraulic and friction cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials, machinery, or equipment at construction and industrial sites.
- Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure crane functionality, including checking hydraulic systems, hoists, and rigging gear.
- Coordinate with ground personnel and riggers to secure and balance loads before lifting.
- Maintain a clear line of communication with team members using radios or hand signals to safely execute lifts.
- Follow all safety procedures to avoid accidents, including working in accordance with OSHA standards and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on the crane, such as lubricating parts and replacing worn-out components.
- Document crane usage, maintenance records, and inspections accurately.
- Report any significant mechanical issues to the maintenance department.
- Assist in the teardown and setup of cranes at different work locations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Crane Operator Certification (NCCCO or equivalent).
- Proven experience operating hydraulic and/or friction cranes in a construction or industrial setting.
- In-depth knowledge of crane functions, load charts, and rigging techniques.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills and understanding of crane maintenance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and at elevated heights.

Preferred Skills:
