The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particulars, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and/or foreign objects resulting from welding activities. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, twist and bend, as well as talk and hear. The position requires the employee to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Duties And Repsonsibilities
- Assist Welder with steel in all positions
- Selection and setup of appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements.
- Welding project prep, including workspace and material planning, moving heavy material with forklifts, grinding, fixturing, measuring, etc.
- Purchasing and picking up parts and equipment for the shop regularly.
- Maintain a clean and immaculate work space. Assist Lead Welders with cleaning work spaces.
- Showing up to work on time every day.
- Assisting with cutting steel using plasma, oxy acetylene, propane, and other cutting methods
- Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 1 years welding experience with steel and/or Shop Hand/Fab Shop Experience.
- Competency in at least one of the following in all positions: MIG, TIG, and SMAW (stick)
- Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures
- Experience with manual and power tools
- Additional consideration will be given to candidates with: Professional certifications, Successful completion of an apprenticeship or General Mechanic Aptitude
