Skills & Qualifications :

  • An advanced understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
  • Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relative to quality and productivity improvements, training, budgeting and cost control, and progressive techniques in area of specialization.
  • Generally, understands all managerial approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action.
  • Requires HS Diploma, BS / BA preferred or equivalent technical certifications.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industrial / automated / facilities maintenance experience is required, as is 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Extensive safety and environmental knowledge in an industrial / automated environment. To include all required PPE and Associated Regulated Training.
  • Prior experience with inventory control systems and processes, purchasing, receiving, accounts payable, is a plus.
  • A working proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must have prior hands-on experience operating and managing systems associated with :          High Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems.          Boilers and Feed Water Treatment Processes.          HVAC with BMS Control Systems.          Plumbing and Sewer Repair and Management.          Generated Power Systems and Switch Gear Operations.          Fire Suppression Systems (Pumps, Valves, Control Panels, compressors, drip legs, extinguishers, etc…)          Membrane Roof Maintenance and Repair Technics.          Blacktop / Parking Lot Resurfacing / Seal Coating.          High Speed Overhead Doors (function, repairs, preventive maintenance).          Painting of all applications (walls, structures, traffic lines, crosswalks, etc...)          Building Safety (egress, electrical code, structural command, etc…)          Heavy Equipment Management (GSE) in support of Airport Ramp Snow Removal.   Work Environment   This position will work in all climates indoors and outdoors. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of around 50 employees that will focus on responding to urgent requests why’ll ensuring our facilities, grounds, and distribution systems are fully operational with a 100 percent “up time” efficiency rating. This position will be associated with a high paced work environment along with a detailed preventative maintenance program. Summary   Develop and deliver all objectives and policies as they relate to the facilities maintenance environment. Develop plans and programs as requested to meet present and anticipated needs of the facilities and grounds. Monitor and inspect all associated systems and equipment to ensure that they are fully operational and that preventative maintenance schedules are being followed. Oversee, recommend, and implement system requirements to safeguard the organization facilities and ground equipment and associated support systems.  Key Responsibilities :

  • Plans, organizes, schedules, and directs the design, maintenance, construction, renovation, and repair of all equipment associated to the facilities and grounds.
  • Monitor and inspect all equipment to ensure that facilities related systems are fully operational and that preventative maintenance schedules are being followed as well as all needed corrected maintenance is being addressed.
  • Evaluate completed work and check for conformance to specifications.
  • Improves efficiency of all facilities and grounds operations related systems.
  • Initiate internal audit program as it relates to, the preventive maintenance program and document as required.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developmental growth of a subordinate staff. Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.
  • Manages the operational and preventive maintenance process of several pieces of heavy equipment supporting our internally managed snow removal process.
  • Frequent contacts with senior executives within DHL.
  • Expert advisor to peers and internal customers.
  • Collaborates with senior management to deliver strategic business results.
  • Builds collaborative working relationships across groups; evokes loyalty and respect from others.
  • Maintain detailed budget tracking records.
  • Direct activities and events to ensure the safe, timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Establishes, monitors, and revises policies, procedures, and service standards for hub.
  • Communicates with some or all of the following business units : systems operations control, load control, facilities maintenance, sort, ramp, gateway and US Customs to ensure efficient and safe operation of the hub.
  • Manages direct communications and provides directions to multiple external vendors that provide services to DHL.
  • Manage purchasing activities of all spare parts / office supplies / and consumable materials (cycle counts, reconciliation needs, RFQ’s, purchasing, receiving, invoice verifications, payment tracking).
  • Manages 2-6 subordinates : responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing staff.
  • Regularly interacts with contacts outside DHL on broader more strategic issues.
  • Drives quality and customer service.
  • Prime spokesperson to external customers, industry groups and / or professional associations.
  • Leads Initiatives and processes for business / functional area within overall areas of responsibility.
  • Approves policies, methods, processes, techniques for business function based on change initiatives.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs across job areas or functions.
  • Manages operational plans and activities that result in accomplishing business strategies.
  • Supervises, coordinates and provides leadership to and reviews the work of Supervisorial and senior professional level subordinates.
  • Creates workforce staffing plans and ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish planned business results.
