DHL is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel with a minimum of 7 years of experience to provide general legal support primarily to the eCommerce business unit. There will be heavy focus on the review and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial agreements.

Job Purpose:
DHL is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel with a minimum of 7 years of experience to provide general legal support primarily to the eCommerce business unit. There will be heavy focus on the review and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial agreements.
Your Tasks:
- Provide general legal support for the eCommerce Business in a variety of legal topics (regulatory, contractual, transactional, marketing, etc).
- Draft, review, negotiate, and provide guidance on a wide variety of agreements including, customer, non-disclosure, vendor, leases, and service agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of documents for the business unit’s day-to-day operations.
- Select and manage outside counsel where appropriate and assist with managing external legal budget.
- Collaborate with the business to address legal issues related to digital services and eCommerce operations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business initiatives and inform decision-making.
- Possess advanced and well-developed skills and knowledge within the contracts/transactions area with the ability to integrate theory and principals with DHL’s practices, policies, and precedents;
- Lead various projects impacting business, operations and revenue, and liaise with management, business divisions, consultants, outside counsel, and other parties as appropriate, and
- Monitor and assess legal developments in eCommerce and logistics sectors to identify potential impacts on business operations.
- Work closely with subject matter expert colleagues regarding matters pertaining to these areas.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholder teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and senior management to understand the needs and strategic objectives of the company to provide high quality, pragmatic and focused legal advice and assist in responsibly growing the eCommerce business.
- Review and investigate any incidences of intentional or accidental misconduct within the office, concerning violation of company policies and procedures to the extent it may harm the organization, as well consumer protection laws (including but not limited to the FDCPA) and procedures, engaging directly with Human Resources.
- Coordinate and provide all necessary training for new and current employees on relevant legal subjects such as anti-trust, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering and other business-related compliance issues.
- Handle all other matters as from time to time that may be assigned by the General Counsel or the Senior Associate General Counsel.
- B.A. (from an accredited college or university).
- J.D. (from an accredited law school).
- Currently licensed to practice law in a jurisdiction in the United States.
- Positive attitude and strong attention to detail are a must.
- Strong commercial contracting experience.
- Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner; must work well with minimal supervision and have excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- eCommerce experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office and database systems.
- Detail oriented, capable of handling heavy, multi-layered client, ability to manage multiple projects and urgencies simultaneously, and be extremely responsive to tight turn around schedules for many transactions in various stages of development.
