POSITION SUMMARY:
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must obtain BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
- Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Some evening or weekend work will be required
- Bilingual – English/Spanish.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years experience in the operations of a Convention/Conference Center, Performance Industry or similar.
- Ability to transport, set up and operate AV systems away from the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.
- An understanding of Audio Visual equipment specializing in the operation of projectors, laptops, Wi-Fi connectivity, basic sound systems and projector screens.
- Knowledge and experience working with PC and Mac computers along with other various forms of AV equipment.
- Ability to operate an intricate remote camera system with audio/video switcher.
- A basic understanding of lighting and audio systems.
- Ability to understand the needs of the clientele as it relates to Customer Service.
- Basic knowledge of stage rigging and the workings of backstage operations.
- Basic knowledge of theatrical terms and theatrical equipment including audio visual aids as required. Planning and conducting varied and complex theatrical operations; speaking clearly and effectively; writing legible and effectively; collecting, analyzing and interpreting data from a wide variety of sources; Knowledge of office software and computer applications.
- Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
- Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.
- Ability and knowledge to set up and control sound /AV systems for events not located at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance in which travel may be necessary to provide systems for offsite events for meetings and seminars.
- Provide Audio Visual and IT support for events in the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.
- Assist with events scheduled in the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance Director.
- Oversees AV and IT inventory for Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance and other equipment assigned.
- Assist in clerical duties performing office routines and practices associated with a productive and efficiently operated office.
- Prepare for and attend all scheduled events in the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance carrying out assigned tasks which may include: light and sound board, backstage or front of house operations.
- Experience working closely with different directors, departments, including different entities that rent or use the facility and the ability to tactfully adapt to their needs depending on the production.
- Basic knowledge of stage rigging and the workings of backstage operations.
- A basic understanding of lighting and audio systems with knowledge of theatrical lighting board operations and digital mixers.
- Assist in maintaining Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance equipment. Other duties as assigned.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
