POSITION SUMMARY:

Physician Practice Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the RMF radiologists and advanced practice providers. The Physician Practice Coordinator assists the Radiology Leadership with maintaining RMF staffing schedules, compliance requirements and performance improvement reporting and serves as a liaison between the radiologists and physicians, residents, and other healthcare personnel.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent Data analysis skills and extended exposure to medical terminology
  • High level proficiency in Excel, background in Cerner preferred
  • Background in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Clinical proficiency level typically attained with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Demonstrated high analytical skills

Responsibilities:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
  • Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.
  • Responsible for assisting the Radiology leadership in the data entry, data collection and analysis for the RMF Radiology staff.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, managing, and evaluation clinical data and workflow.
  • Develops and updates policies required for quality measures compliance.
  • Compiles evidence and reports of compliance with established standards of quality patient care.
  • Keeps informed of statutory and voluntary standards, regulations, and requirements.
  • Promotes collaborative working relationships, creative problem solving, and flexibility.
  • Reviews quality and performance measures for process improvement. Implements, evaluates, and monitors these activities.
  • Responsible for translating the policies and strategies into action plans.
  • Prepares and analyzes data and makes recommendations for improvement. Immediately addresses any discrepancies.
  • Monitors and updates required licenses and certifications for radiologists and advanced practice providers.
  • Monitors and analyzes changes in current accreditations and certification programs to assess the impact of these changes.
  • Ensures staffing is in place to meet the demands of the provider's work schedules.
  • Assists with scheduling of trainings, meetings, and other required special events to maintain flow in the department.
  • Receives and reviews time off requests with Radiology Administration for appropriate staffing.
  • Complete and review office correspondence including invoices, statements, and reports.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.

Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his or her age.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
